Front-line Ambulance Clinicians Union
Front-line Ambulance Clinicians Union
Front-line Ambulance Clinicians Union (FACU) is a London-based organisation dedicated to representing, protecting, and empowering the clinical professionals who deliver life-saving care on the front-line of ambulance emergency and urgent care medical services. Our members include paramedics, emergency medical technicians, and assistant ambulance practitioners who work under relentless pressure to serve the public in person and often in public.
FACU believes that those who care for society in its most critical moments deserve very good pay, to be treated with the upmost of respect, and to be afforded safe and comfortable working conditions. Ambulance clinicians routinely work entire shifts without guaranteed breaks, remaining constantly on call even during designated rest periods. This unsustainable reality not only impacts staff wellbeing but also risks the quality and safety of patient care. FACU actively campaigns for protected, fully paid breaks, without penalty, complication or uncertainty—ensuring clinicians can rest, recover, mutually support and continue to perform at their best without compromise or worry.
Our mission extends beyond rest provisions. FACU is committed to securing meaningful improvements in pay, reflecting the skill, responsibility, and emotional toll inherent in frontline ambulance work. We advocate for fair compensation structures and conditions that support both physical and mental wellbeing.
Through collective action, advocacy, and representation, FACU strives to reshape the working landscape for ambulance clinicians across London and beyond. Together, we are building a stronger, fairer future for those who dedicate their lives to saving others.
The stresses and demands on our members are unique and require a unique response. You are our time critical emergency and we will demand a fast response for you!
